Job Summary
The EHS Manager will design, implement, and continuously improve organizational programs to ensure the health and safety of FILTERBUY employees and compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies. The EHS Manager will report to the Vice President of Operations and collaborate closely with Plant Managers, Human Resource Managers, and other stakeholders across the company to create organizational buy-in and drive
positive change. The EHS Manager will be located in the Birmingham, AL, Salt Lake City, UT, or Pittsburgh, PA metro area and required to travel to facilities across the United States and Canada.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures.
- Develop and oversee sustainable mechanisms for EHS compliance and continuous improvement including training programs and routine inspections.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant EHS regulatory requirements and proactively close related gaps and deficiencies across the organization.
- Conduct root cause analyses on safety incidents and develop corrective actions to mitigate reoccurrences.
- Analyze EHS data to identify trends and hazards requiring enhanced EHS controls.
- Maintain accurate records per company and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee company-wide Safety Committee program.
- Coach managers and supervisors on EHS leadership, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an EHS related field.
- 3+ years of EHS leadership experience in an Operations environment.
- Extensive knowledge of EHS regulations and policies including OSHA and EPA.
- Proficiency with professional software including Microsoft Office or Google G-Suite and with virtual connectivity tools such as Slack.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, including occasional international trips.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Characteristics
- Manufacturing experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience leading, implementing, and standardizing organizational EHS programs across multiple operating locations.
