Description

Job Summary: The HSE Manager is responsible for ensuring the Safety of Employees, the Environment, and Compliance with relevant Health and Safety Regulations.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
1. Designs and enforces Health, Safety, and Environmental policies to ensure the facility meets regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
2. Creates and updates safety management systems, procedures, and protocols tailored to the unique hazards of the chemical industry.
3. Conducts regular risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety audits of plant operations and chemical processes.
4. Implements measures to minimize potential safety risks, including emergency response plans and incident management systems.
5. Leads and organizes employee training on health and safety practices, hazardous materials handling, proper use of PPE and environmental regulations.
6. Fosters a safety-first culture by promoting awareness and best practices among employees.
7. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including hazardous material storage, waste disposal, air and water quality management, and chemical handling protocols.

8. Interfaces with regulatory agencies during audits, inspections, and reporting.
9. Leads investigations of any workplace accidents, chemical spills, or safety incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
10. Stays current on industry best practices and implements new strategies to improve overall HSE performance.
11. Produces Incident Reports and RCAs.
12. Produces and conducts Monthly Safety Meeting Presentations.
13. Submits OSHA 300A Reports annually.
14. Produces monthly/quarterly/annual reports for customer reviews of Specialty Chemical Facility.
15. Maintains inspections of Specialty Chemical Facility Safety Equipment (fire extinguishers, eye-wash stations, fall protection, mobile equipment, boilers, cranes, etc.).
16. Maintains and conducts all required training for Specialty Chemical Facility.
17. Leads Specialty Chemical Management Group in PSM/RMP and ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
18. Conducts New-Hire Safety Orientation.
19. Conducts internal monthly Safety Audits of facility.
20. Coordinates quarterly random drug testing and any other drug and alcohol testing for Specialty Chemical Facility.

1. Company vehicle
2. Standard office equipment
