You will be the Senior Construction Safety Engineer for the Environmental Safety and Health (ESH) team at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control (MFC). Our team is responsible for safeguarding all construction projects at the Troy, Alabama facility.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Senior Construction Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for leading ESH responsibilities to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with construction safety requirements, large greenfield construction projects and equipment instillations.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Reviewing and ensuring compliance with all regulations and procedures for Lockheed Martin construction and equipment projects
• Participating in design reviews for construction projects
• Conducting safety inspections, throughout each day, of all construction/equipment instillation activity
• Reviewing and approving lift plans, fall protection plans, scaffolding plans, respirator programs, trenching plans and others safety plans requiring ESH approval in the Lockheed Martin ESH Contractor Manual
• Conducting incident investigations, and recommending corrective action solutions
• Applying applicable DOD, NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and ANSI standards
• The ideal candidate should be prepared to work on-call and across various shifts as needed, and occasional travel may be required

Position Summary

The Safety and Compliance Manager leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Wilson Lumber Company’s safety programs across all locations.

This role ensures compliance with OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, and state safety regulations related to workplace safety, commercial vehicle operations, and employee health. The Safety and Compliance Manager partners with company leadership to build a proactive safety culture focused on risk reduction, regulatory compliance, and employee wellbeing across manufacturing, distribution, and transportation operations.

Education and Experience

Preferred Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Safety, or related field.

Required Experience

• Minimum 10 years of safety leadership experience
• Multi-site safety program management
• OSHA and DOT compliance experience
• Experience with Workers’ Compensation programs and return-to-work processes

Preferred Certifications

• OSHA 30
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
• First Aid / CPR / AED
• Bilingual English / Spanish preferred
